Although Monument is a small town, there is definite growth throughout the city. The old-fashioned shops are upgrading to become more modern while maintaining their charm.

If you decide to turn your attention closer to shops, this beautiful historic town offers many unique experiences for you to explore. One local favorite place to mingle is Wesley Owens Coffee. When you want a little spice, the La Casa Fiesta Restaurant is a great place to visit. Here, you can enjoy Mexican foods from breakfast through dinner, whether you're in the mood for soup, salads, or the whole enchilada. Monument is overflowing with quaint little shops that you can visit. One great example of this is the Love Shop. This little shop is beautiful both inside and out. It is a delightful place to find unique gifts and home accessories. The Monument Hill Farmers Market is a wonderful place to spend your summer Saturdays. Find fresh produce and a large variety of other things for your home.

Things to Do

The best part of living in Monument is the large variety of things to do. Since it's nestled between two large cities, you have an unending list of possibilities. However, if you prefer to stay close to home, we promise you will never get bored. You can go hiking or visit Monument Lake. In the summer months, people go there to kayak, swim, and more. During the winter, it is often a place where people go for ice fishing and other exciting adventures. Monument Rock is a popular tourist place, but it is also fun for locals since there are a variety of things you can do while there. You’ll love glimpses of the local wildlife, too! For the history buffs, we recommend the Western Museum of Mining and Industry, which pays tribute to the illustrious history of El Paso County, Colorado. While visiting, you can learn and see mining equipment that was used more than 100 years ago. Golf lovers will enjoy having the Kings Deer Golf Club and others close by their homes. This one is an 18-hole course that runs over rolling meadows, providing ample challenge for beginners or experienced golfers.
